IHS Alumni International Urban Professional and Youth Awards are part of an initiative of IHS Alumni International to identify, recognize and award individuals and/or institutions from around the world who contribute to urban management and development, through outstanding initiatives and innovative practices.

The Urban Professional Award is meant to honour inspiring urban professionals who had a significant impact on their city and who, through visionary leadership, strong motivation and commitment, have managed to bring a radical change to their country’s development and to empower future city-changers.

The Youth Urban Professional Award category was introduced in 2016, to reward a young urban professional/organisation for their exceptional work in the urban field. This award presents a unique opportunity to acknowledge one young urban professional for their exemplary and outstanding contribution to the management and development of urban spaces and the promotion of more livable cities.

The Distinguished Alumni Award category has been introduced in 2020, to recognise an inspiring IHS alumnus for their professional path.
