How to build Ukraine back together? - An open discussion for urbanists

As the war in Ukraine is still ongoing, urbanists around the world have already raised a question on how to rebuild the country post-war. Hedwig van der Linden and Oleksandra Tkachenko - IHS Masters in Urban Management and Development alumna - explore how the community of professional Dutch urban planners and architects can help provide an answer to this question.

In the Netherlands, Rotterdam is the city that has most strongly associated itself with post-war redevelopment. Additionally, Rotterdam is viewed as a role model for urban renewal by Ukrainians. Linden and Tkachenko have done a detailed analysis on the state of Ukraine before and during the war, and therefore concluded on what the next steps should be in order to achieve redevelopment in the country after the war.
