"One of the greatest assets of IHS is having an international group of students, and being part of the IHS alumni board is a way to make these worldwide connections last."

Isabel has a degree in architecture and urbanism and an MSc. in Urban Management and Development, with a specialisation in urban strategies and planning. She is from São Paulo, Brazil but is currently living in Lisbon, Portugal. Her experience is varied and she doesn't define herself through the lens of a single role or activity. Her work stretches across sectors, from interior design, planning, public housing, to urban strategies and communications. Her main interest, though, lies in moderating urban participatory processes. Currently she works in a project for a vulnerable community in Lisbon, handling the participatory process with residents. The project involves urban rehabilitation, ecology, local market and employability.

She fully believes in what Margaret Mead has once said: "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.

Interests: Participatory planning, urban strategy, governance, right to the city.

Languages: Portuguese, English, Spanish.
